Robert H. Brown is a member of Cognizant’s Center for the Future of Work. 

He works closely with Cognizant’s Digital Operations and Business Process Services practice, helping to drive Market Strategy and Outreach.  He also works extensively with Cognizant’s Business Accelerator leadership to drive the development of its Intelligent Automation strategy, messaging and go-to-market outreach.

Since joining Cognizant in 2014, Rob has specialized on the topic of robotics and automation and their impact on business processes, and how they’re driving an increasingly digital future.  He was the lead author on the Center for the Future of Work whitepaper The Robot and I: How New Digital Technologies Are Making Smart People and Businesses Smarter by Automating Rote Work, as well as Digital Process Acupuncture: How Small Changes Can Heal Business, and Spark Big Results

Prior to joining Cognizant, Rob served as Managing Vice President of the Gartner Business and Applications Research Team.   As global Lead Analyst for Gartner on the BPO market, he served as research agenda manager for the topic of business process services, and was a recognized subject matter expert in cloud services/BPaaS, as well as HRO services.   His work with Gartner featured extensive international experience, and included a relocation from the US to the company’s European headquarters in London.

As an expert and thought leader on BPO markets, Rob has advised hundreds of senior executives on sourcing strategy as well as BPO market messaging, strategy and execution.  In addition to his career as a strategist and research analyst, his experience has included positions at Hewlett-Packard as well as the British House of Commons.

Rob is a frequent keynote speaker, and has been quoted in leading international business press, including Times of London, InformationWeek, New York Times, CFO Magazine, the FT, and Wall Street Journal.

Rob is a regular contributor to the blog www.futureofwork.com.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and, prior to graduation, attended the London School of Economics as a Hansard Scholar.  He currently resides in in Marin County, California.
