SFO and the NY/NJ Port Authority – How Two Major Airports are Preparing for Rising Seas

Session Description

This session will focus on how, in a post-Sandy era, four of the busiest airports in the world are preparing for and coping with sea level rise and climate change. The San Francisco International Airport and the NY/NJ Port Authority airports (Laguardia, Kennedy, and Newark) are developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to prepare for sea level rise and climatic impacts. In particular, this session will focus on their strategies, solutions, design and approaches being developed to protect their operations and infrastructure amid increasing threats which have far reaching impacts for the global economy.
