Innovation as a Tool for Recovery
July 29 at 10am PDTOn July 29, 2020 at 10 am PDT, Meeting of the Minds will host a free, live webinar featuring Clarinda Barnett-Harrison of Ford Mobility, Kathryn Mullins of Spin, and John Abernethy of Ford Motor Company.
Program
The pandemic changed our world. It changed our movement. It even changed how Ford does business. Ford has responded to this change in three impactful ways from designing and manufacturing PPE to developing community outreach initiatives that center on inclusive public service to standing up micromobility options that support our everyday front-line workers. Join us on July 29th to listen to three case studies using innovation as a tool for recovery.
- The D-Ford team is a group that helps drive human progress through empathy, creativity and design. By challenging assumptions, questioning the status quo, and provoking the imagination, D-Ford quickly transitioned to the design of PPE equipment in response to COVID-19.
- Building on Ford’s community-centered design approach, the City Innovation team has been working with local governments to foster mobility innovations that are equitable, safe and accessible. Working with city leaders, using Ford’s proven model for community-lead innovation, we are offering inclusive and accessible processes for delivering public services amidst COVID 19 recovery.
- Since March 2020, Spin has supported medical providers during the COVID-19 crisis by providing free 30-minute scooter rides through the Everyday Heroes program. To date, Spin has facilitated 16,000+ rides through Everyday Heroes, providing healthcare professionals with a safe and affordable mode of transportation.
Mobility trends are rapidly evolving. We look forward to seeing you at this webinar on July 29th from 10am-11am PDT as we discuss the innovative work Ford is doing in cities across the United States.
